October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
As a reminder, the FDIC's Diversity and Inclusion Education Series program in observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, October 24, 2013, in the Hove Auditorium at Virginia Square. We are honored to have as our featured speaker Ms. Sue Thomas, author, motivational speaker, and former employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Ms. Thomas has been profoundly deaf since she was 18 months old and overcame significant obstacles to work FBI surveillance. She will speak about her FBI service and connect her life experiences to this year's observance theme, "Because We Are EQUAL to the Task."
The program will be broadcast live and may be accessed via this link to FDIC TV. The program will also be broadcast live via the FDIC Video Teleconference (VTC) system and may be viewed at designated headquarters VTC rooms, as well as at many Video Tele-Training (VTT) centers in the regional, area, and satellite offices.
Audio conferencing is available for listening to the program from any location around the country. To hear the presentation, dial 1-800-857-8861 and enter pass code 1480490#. Please place your phone on mute by pressing *6, and a voice prompt will confirm that your phone is muted.
Sign language interpreting services will be provided. Light refreshments will be served following the program. For information regarding this message, or to provide feedback regarding this program, please contact OMWI Disability Program Manager Richard Ellis at Rellis@fdic.gov or 703-562-2404.
