Hosted by the Accessibility Community of Practice of the CIO Council in partnership with the U.S. Access Board and part of the Section 508 Best Practices Webinar Series, this educational event will highlight steps to take when no product is available that fully meets all applicable Section 508 requirements. In this instance, the Section 508 Standards, which are part of the federal acquisition regulations, require federal agencies to procure the product that is most compliant. Section 508 officials from various agencies will share their experiences, recommend procedures to follow, and address various topics, such as identifying potential work-arounds and negotiating improved conformance. The Section 508 Best Practices Webinar Series provides helpful information and best practices for federal agencies in meeting their obligations under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act which ensures access to electronic and information technology in the federal sector.
